Feels Like Summer

On June 13, 2012 by David Krause

It’s finally starting to feel like summer in the Northwest. The mountains aren’t just for winter vacations, they’re great in the summer as well. All the wildlife is out ready to be viewed. The sun is out and the flowers are blooming. There are so many activities to do in the spring. There’s always hiking and biking through the trails and white water rafting and kayaking in the rivers, as well as fishing. Not to mention a park full of fun things at SkiBowl’s Adventure Park.

But there are more relaxing activities too. You can golf or spend a day at the nearby spa and get a massage. Or perhaps just pick up some food and wine at the local farmer’s market and cook it up in the cabin’s kitchen, then eat the leftovers at a picnic the next day. Sitting by one of the many lakes or waterfalls in the area, reading in the sunlight, is also a great way to spend a summer afternoon.

Although skiing is what most people first associate with mountains, there is so much more it has to offer. Find your own adventure or relaxation here on Mount Hood.
